BIOKonstantinos Tsiopanos, who also goes by the name “Dino”, is currently a Senior in the Industrial Design program at Virginia Tech. His passion for art and design started when he was growing up in his parent’s Greek restaurant in Annapolis, Maryland. The opportunities for design and sketching were almost limitless as he drew on all the backs of place mats, and butcher paper rolls. He used cardboard from boxes before they were thrown away to make models of various toys. Airplanes, bridges, ships, and skyscrapers were among the many things he would sketch and build during the slow hours between lunch and dinner at the family business. Over the years he became more fascinated with transportation design, and in 2007 he enrolled in the ID program. Over the next four years he grew as a product designer, achieving awards, prizes, a scholarship, and most importantly a design internship at Dell. He aspires to one day be a transportation designer, though he still has a great interest in product and furniture design. |
